GCCO proudly presents "Romance & Rapture" Recital at Bond University

Gold Coast Chamber Orchestra and Bond University are delighted to announce their final recital for 2023. You don’t want to miss this unforgettable evening!

Presenting ORAVA – the vibrant Australian string quartet, “Romance and Rapture” featuring Rachmaninoff’s “Romance” and works by Schulhoff, an early twentieth century Austro-Czech composer and prominent Australian composer, Peter Sculthorpe.

The Orava Quartet, Daniel Kowalik (violin), David Dalseno (violin), Thomas Chawner (viola) and Karol Kowalik (cello) has been hailed by The Australian as “the future of Australian chamber music, the real deal” for their passionate and engaging performances. They performed as graduate Quartet-in-Residence at the University of Colorado, USA. From 2012 to 2014 they had the privilege of working closely with the world-renowned Takács Quartet and toured extensively in the USA.

 

Since returning to Australia, they have attracted national attention performing at major music festivals such as the Huntington Estate Festival and their second album for Deutsche Grammophon Australia is due for release shortly.
